99 balls of rice on the wall

Today was a day of great anticipation. Two weeks of refining my onigiri palate, working my way steadily through a plethora of rice-wrapped goodness…but I found myself in a bit of a pickle.

…A pickled plum. The last untried flavor on the shelf. The only flavor I’ve never seen in short supply.

It was every bit as terrible as I’d dreaded.

Fortunately, I am wise as well as daring, so I ensured I had a back-up breakfast:

Red bean pancake sandwich with whipped cream! It was absolutely delightful and the perfect consolation prize. 😀
